Forsyth County Public Library is the first library in the state to have created a Spanish bookmobile as part of their outreach to the large Hispanic population in Winston-Salem. The Spanish bookmobile, started in 2005, is called “Bibliobus” and is important for reaching people who have limited transportation.
The number of native Spanish-speakers in Forsyth County has grown to over 30,000 in 2009 from only about 2000 in 1997. According to the Forsyth County Hispanic Services website, the Bibliobus operates every day of the week, including some weekends.
